Weekend Summary

Round 5 of the Drexler Formel Cup / Austria Formel Cup took place in Brno, Czech Republic. Thea wonderful race track is a challenging circuit with significant elevation changes and fast, flowing corners. The track was new for me and I liked the dramatic uphill and downhill sections. Free practices and qualifying were under mixed weather conditions, first wet but drying up quickly. I was not happy with my qualifying times compared to the faster categories but bringing home two victories in my own category (Formula Regional) on this exciting race track made the weekend unforgettable.

Qualifying

📝 Notes	Initially damp track but quickly drying up. Traffic made it challenging for me to deliver clean qualifying laps for the two races.

Sprint Race

📝 Notes	I had a good start but did back off in turn 1, since my Formula Regional has a much higher weight than most competitors around,. My initial laps were rather careful and I was able to improve in the second half of the race. Bringing home my first victory in the Formula Regional on such a great track was fantastic.

📝 Notes	I had a fair start and was able to go with the flow. But due to the damp track I built in too much margin. Towards the end I was able to improve lap times and gaining time compared to the competitors ahead, but it was too late for overtakes. However, I am super happy to bring home another victory for the Championship.
